Harry Kennel “Bud” Sturtz

Harry Kennel “Bud” Sturtz

June 21, 1941 ~ March 23, 2026

Harry Kennel “Bud” Sturtz, age 84, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2026.

Bud was born in Detroit, Michigan, and spent most of his life in Basinger, Florida. In his final years, he lived in Vero Beach, Florida with his daughter and her family, where he was surrounded by love and care.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Bud was a man of simple joys—he loved fishing, taking walks, reading his Bible, and working word search puzzles. More than anything, he loved his wife, Carolyn, who was truly the love of his life. Even as he battled dementia in his later years, his love and memory of her never faded. He also had a playful, silly sense of humor and loved to joke and make others smile.

Bud was a kind, gentle man of God who was deeply loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carolyn Gillis Sturtz; his son, Darryl Williford; and his twin brother, Melvin Douglas Sturtz.

He is survived by his daughter, Sheila Julian (Mike Abraham); his grandsons, Ethan Julian (Mariah Agosto) and Kevin Julian (Felicia); his granddaughter, Maceon Abraham (Andrew Fordham); four beautiful great-granddaughters; as well as three nieces, one nephew, and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Bud’s life was a testament to love, faith, and kindness. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
