Alexander Joseph Marinaro

Alexander Joseph Marinaro, 94, a long-time resident of Baltimore, Maryland passed away peacefully on December 6, 2017 at the VA Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida.
He was born on December 31, 1922 in New York, NY to the late Alessandro Marinaro and Carmella Grappoccio. Nellie Cofrancisco, his wife of 65 years (???), pre-deceased him.
Father of Francis (wife Sandra) Marinaro, Nicholas (wife Beverly) Marinaro and Maryann (husband James Gallagher) Marinaro. Grandfather of Michael, Anthony, Laura and Ricky Marinaro. Great-grandfather of Rosalia, Zachary, Francis and Felicity Marinaro.
He is survived by his sister Mildred Priola of Sarasota, Florida.
Among his accomplishments is his efforts at starting the Hamilton Little League in the late 1960’s with the donation of several acres of land by The Keyes family. His favorite part of Little League was working with the Little League Clinic to teach baseball skills needed for advancement through the league.
After many years working at E. I. DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware he moved to Baltimore where he worked at Johns Hopkins Hospital until his retirement. He served in the United States Navy on the USS Balch at the start of WWII.
Interment will be the National Cemetery in Palm Beach County, Florida.
