Howard McNeil

Howard McNeil

February 08, 1963 ~ August 20, 2025

Howard McNeil, 62 passed away August 20, 2025 in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Howard; born February 8, 1963 in Haverhill, Massachusetts, was a man whose laughter, strength, and stories will be dearly missed; passed away leaving behind a legacy of love and hard work.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna McNeil; his sons, Travis (Courtney) and Daniel (Mia); and his grandchildren Bridget, Joseph, and Liam, who brought him endless joy. His sister, Barbara (Mike), in-laws and several nieces and nephews.  His family, both human and four-legged, meant the world to him. He was preceded in death by his father Sonny, mother Lili and sister Crystal.

Howard lived a full and passionate life. He was happiest outdoors; scuba diving beneath the waves; feeding the animals; tending to his dogs; or planting rows in his ever-expansive garden. His love for nature and animals was only matched by his talent and pride in his work. A skilled and hardworking man, Howard created fountains that still stand as testaments to his craftsmanship and dedication.

Those who knew Howard will remember his humor; his quick wit; and his ability to light up a room with a story or a joke. He carried himself with a pride that came from a life well lived; rooted in hard work and love for his family.

Howard’s life was one of devotion; to his family; to his work; and to the simple joys that made each day meaningful. His spirit will live on in the laughter of his children and grandchildren; the fountains he built by hand; the gardens he grew with care; and the love of those who will miss him dearly.

Celebration of Life October 11, 2025 from 2pm-5pm. Private family gathering following at 6pm. Hyland Farm 1287 Lynbrook Road, Rustburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local Animal Control/Humane Society.

Wonderful tribute to Howard. I considered Howard a friend even though I mainly knew him through work and no one worked harder than Howard. Always trying to do things the best way possible…sometimes too correct! A rare ability to take ideas and turn them into reality as proved with the extraordinary fountains that he created literally from scratch. People in our community will be amazed by Howard’s creations for a long time to come.

Gone too soon, I guess heaven needed a new fountain and this will be the best one yet!

My deepest condolences to Deanna, Travis, Daniel and family. You all were the center of Howards universe from which he lived his best life.

Rest in Peace
