Louis Calderone

Louis Calderone

July 16, 2025

Lou Calderone, age 75, of Florida and formerly Long Island, NY, passed away on July 16, 2025.  He began his career at the Department of the Air Force as a Facility Manager and then began working in Suffolk County, NY, becoming Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Public Works.  Lou worked tirelessly to enhance the county, one of his proudest accomplishments being the 9/11 Memorial erected in Hauppauge.  He assisted and worked with many along the way, creating lasting friendships that extended well beyond his years in the Air Force and the County.

Lou also served in the Air National Guard, retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant after 21 years.  He has been enjoying his retirement restoring classic cars, serving on various committees in the local communities, and proudly serving as a Volunteer Sheriff for Palm Beach County’s Sheriff’s Department.

Lou was a loving husband and father who will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, K9s for Warriors or Furry Friends.

I have many cherished memories of you Lou, growing up together and sharing at family gatherings. I always looked up to you as my older brother; someone who teased me, cared for me, made me laugh and kept me informed. I was so looking forward to seeing you again and giving you a big hug but that will have to wait. May you rest in peace Louie knowing how much you were loved.
