Marilyn Jean Hafey

Marilyn Jean Hafey

October 19, 1946 ~ August 17, 2025

Marilyn Jean Hafey, 78, of Riviera Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025. Born on October 19, 1946, in Staten Island, New York, Marilyn lived a life filled with creativity, love, and devotion to family. She graduated from Tottenville High School and earned her cosmetology license in December 1965. Over the years, she proudly owned and operated her own beauty parlor and managed several others. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she also opened a dance studio, where she shared her lifelong passion for music and dance with countless students. Music was the heartbeat of Marilyn’s life – If there was a song playing, she was dancing. She loved giving impromptu lessons to anyone willing to learn, as dance was her joy and her gift to others. In addition to her love of music, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, corcheting, and knitting. Ever ambitious and self-taught, she learned both Italian and how to play the organ. She will be remembered for her creativity, her generosity of spirit, and even her unique and much loved iced tea. Marilyn lived her Cathothic faith with devotion and always put others before herself.

Marilyn is survived by her daughters: Lisa (Magee) Fitzgerald and her husband Richard, and their children Constance Jones (William) and Richard II, as well as great grandchildren Carlee, Raven, Mason, Serenity, Wynterly, Finnick, and Daxton; Gina (Magee) Gaspar and her husband Michael, and their children Amanda, Michael, and Matthew; and Jessica (Hafey) Treves and her husband Paul, and their children Mia and Vincent. She is also survived by her former husband Albert Michael Magee; her beloved cat, Penelope; and three siblings Gail Olfield, David Padvani, Melody Kline and nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents, David Sanford Paduani and Winifred Henrietta Bowe; her former husband, Francis Hafey; and one sibling Barry Paduani.

A private memorial service will be held for her children and their families to honor her life and memory.

I was so upset when I found out that Aunt Marilyn had passed. She was always kind to me. I remember being about 5-6 years old & stayed with Aunt Marilyn & Uncle Al for a week. We had a really good time! Love & Hugs to you all!

Christine Walsh – Niece

So sorry to hear about Aunt Marilyn passing away. When I think of the memories when we were little, I’ll smile and think of her. Always made us laugh. Now my mom is smiling being reunited with her friend. May all your memories give you peace and comfort at this difficult time. All my love.
