Daniel Edwin Dyer

Daniel Edwin Dyer

December 30, 1963 ~ September 11, 2024

DANIEL EDWIN DYER, aged 60, passed away on September 11, 2024, following a tragic injury in West Palm Beach, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Marie Dyer of Mattydale, New York,
and his brothers Clinton F. Dyer and J. David Tomeny of Miami, Florida and Tampa, Florida, respectively.  He is survived by his three beloved children, Allison Dyer Huston (Sean) of Houston, Texas; Zachary Hanks Dyer
(Alexandra) of Boston, Massachusetts; and Emilie Dyer Green (Darius) of Lakeland, Florida, and their mother Joanne Allred (Dyer) also of Lakeland, Florida.  He was also a proud Poppy to Elliana & Damari Green, and Lucy Danielle Dyer (born 9/23/24).  He is also survived by his brother Bill Tomeny (Christine) and sisters Janet Furrow and Maureen Tomeny Myers, all of Syracuse, New York, and many nieces and nephews.  He leaves behind countless friends, scuba buddies and golf frenemies. Dan graduated from the University of South Florida in 1987 with a degree in Finance and a desire to become a lawyer.  He graduated from Syracuse University’s College of Law in 1992 and was admitted to practice law in both New York and Connecticut. He was a member in good standing of the New York State Bar Association and practiced most recently with Lockhart Law
Offices in Syracuse, New York. Looking to retirement, he had become a PADI IDC Staff Instructor and had developed a passion for sharks, calling several by name. When he wasn’t diving or traveling with his daughter Allie;
playing golf with his son Zach; or visiting with Emilie and his grandchildren; he enjoyed a good Cuban cigar, a glass of dark rum, riding his Harley or just relaxing with his dog Reef.  He was always the life of the party and will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his family.

Memorial Services will be held in Florida and New York at later dates and will be posted on social media.

Dan. You were a huge part of my brothers life in later years. You were there till the very bitter end and beyond. An avid Steelers fan, as he was. I always joked and said-Hey, I have a lawyer in my pocket, do you? 😉 I am positive that Shawn welcomed you along with Mom and Dad. Both of your “Armies” were big. Find peace. My sincere condolences to you left behind.

I will forever miss your calls and texts… I still can’t believe that we will never be able to share those moments again. No one can ever take your place in my heart because it is forever yours! I’ll never forget the endless support and encouragement that you always gave to me. You weren’t afraid to go against the grain and in fact there wasn’t much that you were afraid of. It seemed like life couldn’t knock you down… NO MATTER WHAT! You always found something to smile about, even in your hardest moments! I’m going to try my best to follow your lead and you will ALWAYS give me something to smile about! Thank you buddy xoxx until we meet again
