David M. Hughes

David M. Hughes

January 09, 1980 ~ May 11, 2021

With sad hearts, we announce that David M. Hughes went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. He was 41 years old. David was born on January 9, 1980 in Cleveland, Ohio to Ray and Jan Hughes, and lived in Northeast Ohio for most of his life.  He was an avid Cleveland sports fan.  He graduated from Kenston High School in 1998 and received his Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in IT, which was his passion. David moved to the east coast of Florida in November of 2018. He loved living in Florida – especially swimming at the beach and the sunny, warm weather.  David had a heart of gold and was very intelligent. We will miss his witty sense of humor and ‘MacGyver’ like skills.

David leaves his parents, Ray and Jan Hughes; his beautiful daughter, Maddison; his sisters, Laura (Matt) Brockman and Julie (Zack) Nicholson; and his niece and nephews, Declan, Mia, and Ryder. He also leaves behind many wonderful aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

To honor David’s memory, please remember the good times that you shared with him and pay it forward to help someone in need. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to The Freedom House, attn Anthony Finaldi at 13210 Crisa Dr, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410.

A celebration of life will be held at a future date with details forthcoming.

David, we miss you so very much.  May you finally rest in peace. We look forward to the day we will all be together again in heaven.

With all our love forever ~ Your Loving Family

Miss Me, But Let Me Go

When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom filled room. Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little, but not too long and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared. Miss me, but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take. And each must go alone. It’s all a part of the Master’s plan, a step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart, go to the friends we know. And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds. Miss me, but let me go.

Condolence

I knew Dave through my son Erinn Lynn as they were room mates for several years. Dave was always very kind and considerate. A kind soul and gentleman. He will be sorely missed. I only wish I could have done more for him.

I met Dave when we worked together in Fairlawn. We bonded instantly. We was a very caring and fun-loving gentle soul. One of the funniest guys I have ever met. He was my golf partner in the work league and I never laughed as hard in any one night as I did on golf night.

I miss you terribly. Rest in peace.

I have many great college memories of Dave, but none of them top him and Al and the parking lot dumpster or the Halloween he had a whole shuttle of people chanting something about Ravenna. I will miss his big heart and sense of humor. Prayers for peace and comfort for his family and friends.

Dave was my brother-in-law, and I’m so grateful for the time I got to spend with him and his wonderful family over the years. He had such a warm heart, and we laughed a lot together. My favorite memory of him was always knowing that he was hiding Sour Patch kids somewhere in the house when I came to visit. He definitely knew the way to my heart, and he will be greatly missed. RIP. With love, -Ash

I have a million fond memories of all of the good times we had over the years. Dave was a brother, a friend, a colleague and a genuinely nice guy. I am shocked and saddened to find out he has passed. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten. RIP my dear friend.
