Hi Maureen- so sorry to hear about Ed. Long struggle for sure as I thought it started out when you were still here at Bay Crest.

Was just recalling with Maureen he was the biggest Yankee fan I know, always having the game on down at the beach. Calling over to me when he heard the Mets score being reported.

Hopefully he’s in a better place after this battle. Big hug out to from home.

Rest in peace my good friend. You will be missed. It was my honor to know you. I will always remember the good times we had.

Sincere condolences Maureen. I will miss Ed’s laughter, his quick wit and genuine smile. And I will remember your beautiful wedding as one the the best times Don and I have ever had.

My husband Chris and I and our 3 girls Deirdre, Bridget and Aileen had the pleasure to know Ed and spend some very fun times with him and Maureen. Most memorable was our trip to Disney World in 2007. We had so much fun in the parks, dinners and Ed was so young at heart loving every minute of it. We celebrate his beautiful life and mourn his passing. Our deep condolences to Maureen, his children and grandchildren.

I was friends with Ed going back to the sixties hanging out in Astoria,he came on the job soon after me and I continued to have contact with him.What a funny guy with a big smile and a trademark Transit Police humor.He turned me on to Palm Coast where my wife and I still live.I have a lot of great memories of Ed ,he will be missed.I am

I was a brash young Transit cop during the 1980s in the Bronx when Eddie was the Union delegate. He was by far the best hands on union delegate in an emergency that I have ever seen. In a sink or swim environment where tragically so many coworkers sank he taught me how to swim. When he was assigned to the Transit PBA office he had impeccable integrity when others didn’t. If it wasn’t for Eddie I wouldn’t be in my third decade of law enforcement. He was just a class act.

My dear cousin. My sorrow cannot be expressed in a few words. Ed always wore a smile, had a joke to tell, enjoyed fine wine, adored his cousin Mo, and loved you deeply. Your wedding was “a vacation of a lifetime”! May he Rest In Peace. Love love. Marilyn and Pete

Ed was always a wonderful host when I stayed at Hotel Moe. Kind and funny, I used to laugh when he made faces at things you did. You two were great together. Praying for you to find peace and comfort.

Paul and I are so sorry for your loss. We know Ed was going through a difficult time and that he loved you so. Our prayers and love are with you and your family.

It took a few days to figure out how to honor Ed in this small condolence, it still doesn’t do him justice. I introduced Ed to Maureen more than 25 years ago. Having known both of them, I knew the joy they would share together. They both deserved happiness, and I truly believe they found it in each other’s company. One could look at Ed’s passing and be sad or angry about losing him too soon. I choose to thank him for making Maureen’s life fulfilled. He managed to balance his children, his friends, and Maureen with grace and compassion; traits not often found in crotchety war veterans or retired “cops”. As with most notifications of the demise of someone known to us, it’s a fleeting moment until the distraction of everyday activities takes hold. Please take a few moments in your daily routine to honor Ed by thanking him for whatever it was he bettered your life with. Thanks Ed until we meet again.
