Jean Lucille DeLong

Jean Lucille DeLong, age 88, of Hobe Sound, FL passed away on her birthday, July
6, 2023 in her home where she resided with her life partner Robert Wieseneck.
Jean was a funny, energetic and adventuresome gypsy, always longing for the
next beautiful vista or mysterious turn in the road. No one could nail her feet to
the floor! She had a real zest for life! In her younger years, she enjoyed painting,
photography, her dogs and horses, travelling and even writing. She wrote and
published a book about her childhood adventures growing up in Warren,
Pennsylvania. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her
family.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents Franny and Pearl DeLong, her
daughter Leonna G. Hawley, age 51; her son Stuart S. Barnhart, age 20; her
granddaughter Lily A. Barnhart, age 20.
She is survived by her life partner Robert Wieseneck, age 78; her son Ted
Barnhart of Hutchinson Island, FL; her daughter Rebecca Barnhart-Allan and
Husband Michael Allan of Blowing Rock, NC; her grandchildren Amanda Silva,
Chelsea Jackson, Chase Allan, Brandy Allan Cooper, and Donovan Barnhart. By
Robert’s daughter Cindy Malgadey and husband Alan of New Bern, NC and
grandchildren Ashley Cable, Anthony Varacalli and g. granddaughter Alina
Varacalli; Daughter Jennifer Smith and husband Troy of Palm Bay, FL;
grandchildren Chloe and Abby Smith.
A celebration of life will be held at Jupiter Inlet Beach, 1375 Jupiter Beach Rd.,
Jupiter, FL 33477 @ 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14,2023. A gathering will
immediately follow at her residence @ 10643 SE Rosemarie Court, Hobe Sound,
FL 33455.
