Joseph Sidney Flusser

Joseph Sidney Flusser, age 92, of Jupiter, FL and formerly of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2022. Joe was a loving husband, father and grandfather of 9 grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Leanne of 58 years, daughter Frances Cowen and husband David of Jupiter, FL, his son Jonathan Flusser and wife Ella of Lake Forest, IL, his daughter Susan Kennedy and husband Michael of Greensboro, NC, and his 9 grandchildren, Haley, Jonathan, Katelyn, Marin, Madeline, Michael, Daniel, Grace and Levi.
Joe was the first in his family to go to and graduate from college and then serve in the US Army from 1954-1956. He worked for Abbott Laboratories as a chemical engineer and retired after 35 years as the Vice President of Human Resources. Joe will be remembered for his love for his family, his kindness to others, and his welcoming smile. He loved sailing, the Chicago Bears, a good scotch and pecan pie.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 12 at JupiterFIRST Church at 11:00am. The service will also be live streamed on jupiterfirst.org, youtube.com/jupiterfirstchurch

Sorry I couldn’t attend the service. I tried on line, but link didn’t get me to live service.
Joe was a good friend from our days at Von Steuben way back when. His passing comes just a few months after Howard Bernstein’s passing, truly a passing of an age.
While we weren’t close for a number of years, we had a great relationship growing up. Joe was always upbeat, always enjoyed life.
I am sure he will be missed by all of you, but there does come a time for all of us when we must say goodbye.
