Kathy Edwards

It is with immense sadness that the Edwards family announces the passing of Kathy Edwards of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, on October 18, 2026, after a long and arduous battle with Early Onset Alzheimer’s.

She was born in Miami, FL, on August 26, 1962, to Glenda Carr, and was lovingly adopted by Edna Akin and Fred Parrott.

Kathy graduated from Hialeah High School, where she met some of her lifelong best friends. Her caring and compassionate nature led her to a career as school nurse with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County. A devoted Miami Dolphins fan, she celebrated every win and endured every heartbreak every Sunday.

Kathy is survived by her husband of almost 41 years, Jerry, and her two daughters, Elyse (William) and Courtney Grace. She fiercely loved and supported her family, and she will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her adoptive mother and father.

A private family memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association or Trustbridge Hospice Care in her memory.
