Leland “Lee” J. Goode

Leland “Lee” J. Goode

February 11, 1948 ~ August 30, 2023

Leland “Lee” J. Goode, 75, of Tequesta, FL passed away the night of the full Blue Moon, August 30th. He was a kind, loyal, loving man with a big heart and a quick sense of humor. Growing up in Japan, Alaska, and Hawaii, he was always ready for an adventure.

Whether it was hot air ballooning in Arizona, fishing in Canada, Skiing in Lake Tahoe, horseback riding in the Ozarks, traveling the Oregon Coast down the Pacific Coast Highway to Pebble Beach, Lee loved life. Almost as much as he loved golf. Tryall Golf Course and the island of Jamaica always held a big piece of his heart. Attending The Masters, The US Open at Shinnecock Hills and Sunday golf clinics with his grandson Princeton, were some of Lee’s proudest moments. He developed many great friendships on the golf course and loved his retirement job as The Starter at Eastpointe Golf Club, getting to know members and coworkers.

In his 30’s Lee owned showcase night Clubs at Purdue University and Indiana University, where he promoted both national and local artists, once having Pat Benatar and John Mellencamp perform side by side. Settling down, he married Rena Rosch in 1986 and moved from Indiana to Florida. Together, Lee and Rena owned a printing and advertising business in North Palm Beach for 20 yrs. He loved Little League Baseball, coaching his son Robert and friends for 12 seasons. Lee never missed a Little League World Series.

Lee will always be remembered for his stories. He loved to reminisce and laugh. Whether you have a story about, with or from Lee his family asks that you share them here and remember him with a smile.

Lee and I promoted a lot of great shows together in the ’80s. Many fond memories. I was just looking at pictures of a trip that we took with other friends to Jamaica. Such fun times. Rest in peace, Brother Lee.

I’m so sorry. I remember my cousin Leland from family gatherings at Grandma and grandpa’s house in Mulberry along with his brother and sister as well as my other cousins. He was so full of life, even when times were hard. I will miss him for sure.

He taught me how to be a man, he loved everyone he met and I cannot express how much of an impact he has had on my life. I would not be where I am without his unwavering love and support.

Lee and I have been friends since 1965 when he moved to Mulberry. We played football and wrestled together. Several adventures and a few mis-adventures. He was a good friend. Condolences to his family and all his friends.

Rena,

It appears Leland picked a Super Wife. Thirty Seven years is a true sign of Adventure , Happiness, and Love.
It is evident he enjoyed an adventurous life.

We Indiana Cousins always looked forward to Uncle Sam taking leave. Arriving at Grandmas always meant having fun. And to stay out of mischieviness activities.
The goal was always to catch up on his travels too Exotic Locations.

As adults we lost contact with Leland. One of the regrets of life !
He, was always a Leader. He.will always be missed.
Terry
