Marion A. Gordon
August 06, 1921 ~ February 24, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Marion A. Gordon, cherished matriarch of her family and beloved member of her community, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2025.
Marion was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Thomas S. Bosanko; her brother, John Karas (Grace); her sister, Dorothy Karas; her second husband, Norman Gordon; and her beloved granddaughter, Jennifer Bosanko. She is survived by her children (and their spouses), Janet Hammer (Scott), Tom Bosanko (Caitlin), Pete Bosanko (Debbie), Susan Bosanko (Matt), Marion Groetch (John); her six grandchildren, Kiley Bijlani (Shiv), Stephen Bosanko (Nana), Lauren Groetch (Danny), Evan Groetch (Tien), Ryan Bosanko, Grady Bosanko; and three great grandchildren Kaylee Bosanko, Julia Simpson, and Mia Groetch. She is also survived by her adored nieces and nephews and was blessed with a deeply loving and caring community, whom she often called her second family.
Marion was born Marion Augusta Karas in 1921 and grew up on New York City’s Upper West Side. She graduated from Julia Richmond High School in Manhattan and eventually went on to train as a nursing cadet. She finished her training just as World War II ended and although grateful, she was also a tad disappointed she was too late for active service. She remained lifelong friends with her nursing sisters and enjoyed 15 years serving as a nurse at Huntington Hospital. Although she retired in 1980, her nursing spirit and love of service and caring never dwindled. Marion was at her best and happiest when helping others. She was famous for her Greek spaghetti and strawberry pies that appeared whenever someone was celebrating a special occasion, not feeling well, or as a thank you for the many, many kindnesses that her community showed her. She was an excellent player of Bridge, Rumikub, crossword puzzles and… slot machines!
Marion raised her family on Long Island where Sundays were spent with extended family. There was always a gaggle of aunts, uncles, and cousins around the dining table. With her young and large family and a flock of friends, she spent summer vacations in upstate New York at Baker’s Camp and Friend’s Lake, creating fond memories for all. Marion brought the fun even in her later years when her visiting grandchildren were treated to happy hours at hip watering holes.
Marion was also deeply committed to the Methodist church in Jupiter, Florida, and was a faithful volunteer. She was grateful for the cards and visits from her church family in her later years, when attending services became more difficult.
Marion will be remembered for her loving, caring and adventurous spirit and will be deeply missed.
Please join us for a celebration of life on March 7, 2025, at 2 PM, at the First United Methodist Church, 815 E. Indiantown Road, Jupiter, FL. followed by a reception at 300 North A1A, East Clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name and in memory of her dear granddaughter, Jennifer Bosanko to the Melanoma Research Foundation: Donate Online – Melanoma Research Foundation.

Through deep sorrow I would like to write two lines from the poem “cicadas” of the Greek Odysseus Elytis” -Hey, you cicadas, my angels, greetings and cheers to you, is the Sun king alive? And they all reply at once” “Zi, Zi, Zi” meaning is alive! Because she was a Sun and she will always send her light..
