Robert C. King
February 23, 1931 ~ May 09, 2025

Robert C. King (Bob) passed away on May 9, 2025 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida at age 94, surrounded by family and friends during his final hours.
With a Chemical Engineering degree from Princeton University and an MBA from Rutgers University, he spent the majority of his career in the oil and gas industry, with his final assignment being that of managing worldwide computer operations for Mobil Oil.
Bob loved to learn, and had many hobbies which brought him joy. He was an avid bridge and poker player, made his own jams and ice cream (strawberry was his favorite), grew his own vegetables in his ever-present garden, and had a mean tennis serve. On the golf course, his thrill came from scavenging in the brush and woods to find others’ lost balls, usually ending a round with more balls than he started with.
He traveled extensively both for business and pleasure, visiting far away places with his wife of 64 years, Phoebe, and his second wife of six years, Jane. He and his partner until death, Brenda Epstein, traveled to see family in the United States, including his son, Robert, in Maine and his daughter, Vicki, in Ohio. He even met Mickey Mouse on a Disney Cruise!
If there is one word to describe Bob, it is “straight shooter.” He spoke from both his mind and his heart. When you asked him for advice, he would give you his honest opinion, even though he knew that it may not have been something you wanted to hear. He was always someone on whom you could count in a time of need, and was selfless in helping those whom he loved – family as well the many whom he considered to be friends.
He is survived by his son, Robert King of Maine, his daughter, Vicki Kerman of Ohio, and his five grandchildren, Amanda King Quijano of Weston MA, Joshua King of Wellesley, MA, Meredith King of Melrose, MA, Nick Kerman of Columbus, Ohio, and Nadia Kerman of Anchorage, Alaska.
