After graduation from LaSalle Academy he enlisted in the US Navy at the end of WWII before graduating from Providence College. He was an avid fan of Notre Dame football and Providence Friars basketball until the very end. A gifted salesman, he represented high end European tabletop manufacturers for decades. Those included Aynsley China of England, a favorite of the former Queen, and Orrefors Crystal of Sweden, culminating as national sales manager for the latter. Post retirement he enjoyed substitute teaching throughout the Fairfield and Westport, CT school systems. Upon moving to FL he continued his love of teaching as a substitute at Palm Beach Day Academy for many years. A devout Catholic, he was a longtime lector at St. Edward Church in Palm Beach. A funeral mass will be held at St. Edward Church on March 17th, 2023 at 10:30 AM – indeed an appropriate date. I have many memories of Bob but I will most remember our last family (small) dinner together; it was after all one of his favorite pastimes. We picked him up from the Atria and brought him to our home for dinner – surf and turf, and a little wine. He enjoyed the food and wine but most of all he enjoyed telling us stories, many of them we had not heard before. I know that he appreciated that evening!

For those who do not know, Bob was a 4th degree knight with the Knights of Columbus – good show Bob!

Rest in Peace – Michael

Hi Grandpa,

Grateful to have spent so much time together since moving back to Florida. I won’t soon forget you trying to tell jokes in your last days. Love you grandpa, or grampa as I would say it. May the Irish Prayer be with you.

Sorry I missed seeing you one last time, Bob. I think of you whenever I have lobster chowder. I know how much you liked it.

Bob, Cheryl, Bill, and Lisa my thoughts are with all of you this Christmas season. It’s always hard to lose a parent but it seems even more pronounced during the holidays. Love to all of you and yours.
Pauline
