Ronald D. Heinz, age 70, of Indiantown, FL, formerly of Peoria, IL, and Bemidji, MN, passed away suddenly on April 6, 2017. A retired Peoria Police Officer, Ron is survived by his wife Babs, sons Chris and Jeff (Monique), grandchildren Camden and Rylen, sister Janice DeBoer (Carl), brother Gary Heinz (Sue), and many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Holy Cross Church in Indiantown, FL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Kidney Foundation (www.kidney.org), National Stroke Association “Hemorrhagic Stroke”, (www.stroke.org), or The March of Dimes, (www.marchofdimes.org).

I was sad to hear of Ron’s death. He and all of his family have been and will remain in my prayers and at the Masses I celebrate this Holy Week & Easter. May he rise with the Lord and fly like the eagles.

I worked with Ron in the mid 70’s at the police department. He was a great guy and a lot of fun. In those days, there was much disdain for female officers, but not from Ron. He was a wonderful co-worker & always helpful. Your family is in my prayers.

I am sincerely sorry reading about Ron’s passing. He was truly a good friend as we spent many good times in Korea together and in Peoria. I feel so bad knowing I can’t hear that deep laugh he had. Peace to Babs and the family.
