Theresa (Teri) Krug

Theresa (Teri) Krug

July 17, 1944 ~ April 10, 2026

Theresa (Teri) Krug, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on April 10, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion.

Born on July 17, 1944, in Bridgeport, CT, Teri was the cherished youngest daughter of Stephen and Sophia Kisiel. She grew up alongside her sister, Helen Scully, with whom she shared a lifelong bond.

Teri graduated from Laurelton Hall High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree from Marymount College.

On October 1, 1966, Theresa married the love of her life, George Krug. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family and faith. Theresa was a devoted mother to her three children: Marybeth Krug (Frank), Stephen Krug (Kelly), and Jerilyn Ashworth (Justin). She was also a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Stephen Krug, CJ Krug, Kaitlyn Krug, Kristin Krug, James Ashworth, and John Ashworth, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Later in life, after raising her family, Teri returned to school and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University.  Thereafter, she pursued a career in social work, where she made a profound difference in the lives of young people. She worked with juveniles in detention, helping guide them toward hope, healing, and a better future. Her compassion and belief in second chances changed lives and reflected the very essence of who she was.

Teri was known for her strong will, sense of humor, her generous heart, and her unwavering kindness. She was always ready to lend a hand, offer support, or simply share her warmth with those around her. Her infectious laugh could brighten any room, and her presence brought comfort to so many. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: admiring the beauty of the beach from afar, skiing in the winter, weekly card games with friends, and spending decades playing tennis at the West Nyack Swim Club and Nyack Field Club. These moments reflected her spirited nature and her appreciation for joy, friendship, and adventure.

Teri will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on in the family she treasured, the lives she touched, and the countless moments of laughter and love she shared.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations sent to: https://www.givecampus.com/schools/UniversityofMiamiUCare/in-memory-of-teri-krug,  a fund to support leptomeningeal cancer research, in loving memory of Teri.

A small ceremony is being held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 2:00pm.
