Thomas Dean Boehning
March 23, 1940 ~ December 05, 2024
Thomas Dean Boehning left this world peacefully on December 5, 2024, at the age of 84, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 23, 1940, in Francesville, Indiana, Tom was the second of five sons of George and Laura Boehning. Tom graduated from Francesville High School, where he excelled as an athlete on the Franceville Zebras basketball, baseball and track & field teams. He received his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from Purdue University, where he excelled academically graduating third in his class. After graduating from Purdue, Tom worked as both a licensed pharmacist and formulation chemist for several pharmaceutical companies in the Chicago area. He continued his love of sports by pitching for a semi-professional league in the Chicago area. Tom moved his family to suburban Philadelphia in 1972 after joining Colorcon Inc, as a sales representative. His grit and determination resulted in a rapid ascension within the company resulting in his advancement to president of the enterprise. Tom retired from Colorcon in 1995 and moved to Florida full-time in 2002.
Tom was a devoted husband to Stacey for 12 years and the proud father to Robin, Tom, and Darren along with his step children Rachel and Ryan. He loved his seven grandchildren with all of his heart and cherished time spent with his family.
Tom was a car enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf and traveling the world with loved ones. As an accomplished golfer, he won numerous tournaments at country clubs in Philadelphia and Jupiter, FL, and one of his most cherished gifts was a golf excursion with his sons at the Old Course in St. Andrews.
Tom was a very devout Christian and a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church in North Palm Beach, FL. It was there he met his wife, Stacey. He would tell the story of how he “stalked her to the parking lot” after service to ask for her phone number. He lived a selfless, generous and unapologetic life and was always willing to help out those in need.
Tom leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Stacey, children Robin, Tom (Tina), Darren (Madeline), and stepdaughter Rachel Brasington and stepson Ryan Brasington. He is also survived by two brothers, Larry and John, and seven grandchildren: Carley, Lindsey, Ally, Julia, Grace, Cora, and Landon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Shriner’s Children’s, St. Jude Children’s, or the Wounded Warrior Project in Tom’s honor.
